TU Tag ?

When you buy a TU auto tag at the DMV, how much $$ actually goes to TU ?

Does it get used for any specific purpose within TU or does it go in the general fund ?

I believe it costs $ 43 bucks and some of that goes for the actual cost of the tag.

TU gets nothing, only advertisement.

Absolutely NOTHING! It goes into the general fund.

$24.00 goes to the DNR www.dmvs.ga.gov/motor/plates/plate.asp?ptitle=TU (http://www.dmvs.ga.gov/motor/plates/plate.asp?ptitle=TU).

Other plate fees go to specific trust fund, state department or the general fund.

The Wildlife plate with the Bald Eagle/American Flag funds The Non-Game Wildlife Conservation Fund.

The Bobwhite Quail/Deer plate funds go to the DNR for their use in conducting programs designed to enhance the bobwhite quail population in Georgia.

Hi Guys,
Are you sure these are still available? I don't think so. I tried to get one last December and was told at my tag office they were not making them any more because there were not enough sold last year to meet the quota. Unless something has changed and they have changed their minds they are no longer being made. God bless, Tom

Tom, yes they are still available. I purchased one in April in my county (Elbert). I believe that there are tags available, just not in your county. There were plenty in Elbert county, and the tag office told me that they had only sold a few. As for what TU gets, there was a $15 additional charge that I had to pay. I don't think my total for tag, taxes and all was over $40.00.

Just got one in Gwinnette the 1st wk in June. Think was $ 43. That's why I was asking where the $$ went.
