I am looking for waders/shoes for a 10 year old. What are your recommendations? I need a size 4 shoe.

I'd recommend a pair of hip boots. Keeps them from wading too deep, thus avoiding some potential trouble. Bass Pro and Cabelas carry children's hip boots I belive.

Cabela's Three Forks bootfoot waders - $39.

I have the big-boy version...they wear like iron. The boot fits adequately, but I don't intend to hike rough terrain in them.

In cold water, wear fleece pants. In anything less than cold, just wet-wade.

I second Windknots choice. I got a pair for my 9 year old last year and they are pretty bullet proof. He's slid down many rocks, trees, muddy banks and no leaks. And for $39 you don't feel like you don't get your $$$ worth when they grow out of em. Now that summers here, he typically wet wades. And if fishing is slow it turns into a swimming trip.

I also make my son wear a PDF when we go, waders or no waders. I know what its like to have a pair of waders full of water and I like the extra safety for him.
