Hey I went fishin yesterday up at Waters Creek and we could not of ask for a better day. It was rainy and overcast which put together an awesome combination for catching fish. The fish were hitting a wide variety of flies but all were subsurface. Due to the murky water and the heavy rain we started off using a pink San Juan (#12) which caught a number of fish the largest being 16 in. The other flies we used were: a Lighting bug (#16), White zonker (#8), Glow ball (#10), Crawdad (#10), Utility midge (#12) and different patterns of a Stone fly (#12). If you have never fished Waters or just limited youself to the first couple of pools I suggest you walk upstream for the fish that do not receive a lot of pressure and remember Waters is only open Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday and are kept under strict regulations. So your best bet is to hit the water on a Wednesday...if not you will be fishing in someone's wake but that usually doesn't matter cause majority of the people fishing waters do not know what they're doing. But most importantly...While your fishing you can not possess any flies with a bard...So go through the ole fly box and mash down those barbs...Good luck and happy fishin

Dont worry... you'll still be the first :) ... that's why i waited until the last minute ;) ... shouldnt matter anyways... last time, i got there at daylight and had the whole stream to myself for about 2-3 hours even then only two people showed.. then they had it to theirselves... and it was broadcasted much more last time.

True! I like to hike anyway. I will always go the extra mile, in this case literally. I just have to take a crack at those few pools first.

hmmm... is theirselves a real word  ... my wife always corrects me when i say his-self... "it's supposed to be himself, not hisself" :o ... anyways... we should get a coupon for a free day at Water's for the hard work last saturday... well... the accomplishments, fellowship, the free NGTO hat/button were still very much worthwhile :) .
