Sorry to jump in here but a friend of mine from NC went through Doss Custom Fishing to a place in the Bahamas called Crooked Island. The island is 23 miles long & 7 miles wide. The town with its own airstrip is Pittstown Point. He went last May and said they caught so many bones & permit they actually got tired.

Just an FYI

Gonna jump in here real quick;
I'm running the new Fish Hawk Travel department and we represent around ten lodges in the Bahamas. We've fished most of the lodges we represent and can get you squared away. Go to our site www.thefishhawk.com and click travel.

Grand Bahama choices. If you have your own accomadations. Phil and Mels:877-613-2454, 242-353-3960. A great place in Feeport is Pelican Bay. Half way across the Island is North Riding Point. It's really nice. Give us a call for any help.

Just looking forward to having a guide for bonefish for the first time. Need to get out and practice my distance!
I'll be down to see you guys for some flies too.

Hey one more question for you folks. 9 Wt line. Seeing I use my 9wt for stripers, for largemouth when chucking big huge flies, for reds in the Indian river and now going for Bones for the first time, if one was to get a general all purpose wt forward 9 wt line, what would you suggest??
Since it is going to be used in warm water to cold water, which kind of line would one lean towards?
Thanks!

If you could create a line like that, one that is great in fresh and salt, hot and cold, it would be a billion dollar invention. Freshwater lines and saltwater lines differ in their core (what makes the line stiffer or limper depending on the temps). Coldwater lines turn to noodles in the warm water and tropical lines become stiff as an extension cord.

For bonefishing, Rio's bonefish taper or clouser taper work well as do SA's Bonefish line or Cortland's Tropic Plus. Any of these lines will be the ticket in the Bahamas.

Drop by the shop when ya get a chance,
James
