My how that water has changed since I last fished it a couple of years ago. Sandbars completely moved. Looks like it might be float tubeable or pontoonable - can anyone confirm that?
A drift trip on the Hooch fell through this a.m., so I called some other friends to fish the Ami today. Walked in about a half mile and fished a 2 or 3 hours. One friend caught 2, the other caught 7 or 8. I caught 3! While that may not seem like a lot to many of you, when you only get to fish 3 days a year, it's pretty darn good.
Lots of leaves and pine needles in the water. I caught fish on flies that Tie One One tied for me sometime ago, tungsten bead head hare's ear with a yellow-ish/tan-ish split biot tail. Eveyone caught on the swing. Most of the fish caught were in the late afternoon.
If anyone travels between Tate and the turn to Steel Bridge, please stop and get the phone number off the Toyota camper for sale on the side of the road - it's for my Dad - Thanks!
