Hit the water at about 10:45. Started just after the concrete handicapped fishing area. Constant light swarm of tiny bugs. Could not tell what type. Water was very cold and the weather was great.

12 total, 3 at 13". Most on a 16 or 18 prince BH nymph, dropped behind a large stone fly. Yellow and light brown stone fly patterns landed a couple.
At the end, a couple were taken on a Y2K. lots of hook-ups but only 12 to hand..... oh well, your going to put'em back anyway.

My friend landed 5, again the prince seemed to rule, :D

Drop'em off something heavy and get them down fast.
Take advantage of some of the tail outs on the slow pools.

With all the pine straw on the rocks the river bed will play tricks on your eyes.
Be careful and carry a wading staff.

I went Sunday and caught about what you did and went back this afternoon and caught six. Interesting discovery just in front of the first concrete pad. The last fish of the day had a fly in his dorsal fin and some sort of dry fly in his mouth :yikes: . I removed my hook, but before I could remove the others, he got away.

Poor fellow, I hope he makes it. :cross:

Can anyone offer some assistance getting to the Ami? I have fished at and above Steele Bridge road once this year but not sure how to access the DH portion.

There is a parking lot where the Ami crosses Hwy 53 on river left. It's DH from there upstream to steel bridge

I have waded the areas around Steele Bridge and the 53 Bridge, but haven't fished much between the two. Is that a good float? How long does it take to float the DH section usually? Thanks.
