Materials List
The Black Beauty
AKA The Black Harlot
Thread: Black 6/0
Hook: Targus 300 (Replaced TMC 300) Size 14
Body: Gun Metal Black Glass Bead (Wal*Mart or Killer Caddis)
Tail: Black Marabou
Head: Black Bead Head (Spirit River or Orvis)
Special Notes
I fish it deep on the dead drift and let it make the swing. The Black
Beauty gets more of it's strikes on the swing than the Pink Harlot does. The
Black Beauty also catches a higher percentage of Browns that the Pink Harlot. Only about a third of the Black Beauty's fish will come on the dead
drift. As for why more Browns; I dont know , but thats true for the Black Beauty and the Jalapeno Hottie.
From the Tier
The Black Beauty aka "The Black Harlot" was the very first fly in the
Flash-n-Trash Streamer Series. Originally it was a Damsel fly imitation
tied with barbell eyes on top so the hook would ride up side down making it
weedless. It was a real bream buster. Later I discovered it was a good
tailwater fly. Caught my first trout on it in 1993.
