Looking for directions and fishing info for the Tuck in N.C.

You guys who went on the Nantahala trip with Grizzz have stirred my interest!!

All I can tell you is 411 to Dillsboro. Fished there first of November, outstanding fishing. We had no generation, so the wading and tooning was great. I think the fishing is fine on one or two generators, but I am not sure about the wading situation. Size 16 orange Stimulator with a small beadhead Pheasant Tail worked for us. Also caught a few on Lightning Bugs, Rainbow Warriors. If you have a toon, I suggest floating the river. PM me for shuttle info. Jim

River rat, I think you meant "441". "411" would have him headed to the Hiwassee (which isn't a bad thing). I can relate though, I just transposed "Reeves Road" for "Neese Road" on another thread.

Wet Patella, River rat is right though about 441 (which is also Hwy 23 coming out of Clayton, GA on mapquest). Anyway, search for Dillsboro, NC on Mapquest.com and you will see the Tuck just south of the city proper. Just after crossing the river turn right and the road (and the DH) runs all the way to where Hwy 107 intersects. There is a little zigzag in Webster.

The lower section is deep water. Most folks fish the upper section of the DH which is wadable.

Lots of yellow jackets, snakes, whitewater rapids etc..

Not much room to cast either

oh yeah, only fish in there are chubs anyway!

I would fish somewhere else far far away ;)

20" chubs are quite fun though... ;)
411 to the Hi might be just as good a trip?
