Perusing the message board and saw the gear forum. Thought I would post a warning of a dangerous situation that happened to me.

If you currently use a wader belt that is elastic or allows for ANY stretch at all - do yourself a favor and imediately cut it in two and replace with a non-stretch belt!!!

I was on the hootch, in above my belt while exiting the stream. Butted both toes up against a rock and pitched forward looking upstream. Had on a stretchie wader belt. It was worthless. The water poured in and the waders filled up - quick!

I was lucky, recoverd my footing and got the last 25 feet w/o going under, but... It scared the snot out of me. I took on water and the waders became a ballloon. Don't let it happen to you!
