more than really fishing. I had some casting issues to work with and if you saw my post above in "Ask The Experts" I was really there to experiment with some things. It was so cold that my guides froze up about every other cast and I switched to spinning for about 30 minutes and ten went back to flyfishing. All in all I had a great time and for those of you that are lurking and not joining this forum, let me tell you...you are missing out..way out. I ran into some fellow NGTO'ers and they were of ENORMOUS help out on the creek. Giving advice and equipment to me just because they see me post on this site.
This is a great fraternity..thanks guys for all of your help.

But to answer your question, I landed 4 pretty nice rainbows with the largest being about 15".
Looking forward to fishing with you soon whether it be on the Ami or on your river.

Hey I like the sound of" Your River ", hummmm, wonder if I can change the name to " Garrett's river "
weird thing happen this am, the GADNR sent me an email in their supervisor wanting to talk to me about the trout fishing up here..I called them and spoke with the fella that sent me this email, sure enuff Rome DNR answered the phone, he said his supervisor wanted to find out where I have been fishing and the sizes and such. He said they wasn't sure how the trout fishing was up in my area since know one ever reports it. Soooo when he calls, I'll give everyone the scoop.

Daddio of Plentio,
What time were you there when the fish were active near the surface? The surface action was very sporadic by the time I got there, about 12:30.

Do7,
Quick fish report from Buck: after we left you and Steve at the steel bridge, Todd and I moved down river about 100 yards to that first deep pool. We both yanked 3 trout a piece out of that pool, all on Black Wolly Buggers. My biggest fish was a 14 inch bruiser!
We then drove down to the Hwy 53 bridge and I caught 6 more and Todd caught a bunch. I ended up with 9 for the day and Todd had 15. All fish down at Hwy 53 were caught on size 14 GRHE's (tied by yours truly!). The best part was the quality of fish we were catching, many at 13" and up.
Ciao and Merry Christmas to all,

At least you could've yelled at us and told us where the fish were!! ;)
Steve and I were up at the bridge trying to get the fish to bite and you were down catching trout. What kind of friend are you?
LOL...glad you caught some. After I left I was thinking that I should have tried the black bugger.
Hey..I have a deal for you: I'll buy the supplies and you tie the flies for me and Levi?

How about a fishing gift from me?
Steve, Buck, BrandonT, SpinBoy, of course Dad of PLENTY and whoever else wants to come, this saturday?
I know Dad of Plenty and his boy is coming...
Any thoughts???
Since all of you are fishing the ami which is about 30 minutes away from me, might as well fish where they are bigger ones...
But of course, CnR...

I'm not going to be able to get a hook wet again until next week sometime. I was telling Mossy about an intersting fly I found that you guys should take to the Cartecay. The Orvis store here in Cartersville had a "fly" that was nothing more than a little ball of synthetic material designed to look like a piece of the hog feed (as Mossy called it) that they sling from the fish feeders. The owner said she got them from some guy Abernathy from Helen who is also tying SJW's and Y2K's for her store. Maybe somebody out there knows who that is...Good luck.

Had a great day with Buck on the Ami yesterday. At one point we were yelling "BAM" when we would see the other guys strike indicator disappear.
Too much fun..

Guess I could if I wanted a divorce! Seriously, fished Wed at the Ami, where I met Buck and Dad of more than me ( I have 5 boys!). Then went deer hunting Fri. Family Christmas is Sat. Would love to come up and fish. Maybe one day next week, if things work out. Your tales and pix are killing me. Funny that the DNR is interested! Can't wait to hear how that turns out! Let us know.

well the DnR supervisor wanted to know where we were catching them , what we were using & the sizes of all of them, what the stomach content looked like, etc....
He said looks like all the stockers they put in up river from me isnt getting down to where I am at. Now arent all these trout stockers at one time???
He said he may cut back on the stocking since there are so many big ones, now what the @#$@^#^ is he talking about ???
That doesn't make any sense.....
Dad of many is on his way up, we'll be posting our results this evening..
wish us luck ! I looked outside this am at 0830am, heavy frost looked like it snowed, a whopping 22 degree's on the thermomenter.....
Hummmm, wonder what the water temp will be, I would say " Draw up Nuts " bitter colder...
Happy Holiday's everyone !
