Went up to the Cartecay at Mossy's house. What a pretty place. We put in about noon and left Levi and Tyler at the stream beside Mossy's house and we went up to the area that holds bigger fish. Almost right off the bat, Mossy hooks up with a 3 pounder. Big fat Bow. I'm thinking that this is gonna be huge. I fish for about 45 min and I get a nice 15 incher. Fat as a hog. And that's the end of the trip. Mossy caught about 8 fish and I got one. The water was freakin like crystal. I figure that's why we didn't have much luck.
Mossy is a gentleman and when he says to come up and fish he really means it. A great host. My buddy and him hit it off immediately and they talked about everything and my son picked on him when he fell into the water. All in all it was a great trip. I look forward to going back soon.

Man, your killing me. A 3 pounder, aww man I wish I could have come. That could have been me catching the three pounder.
Nah actually it would have been me catching one or none. LOL :indif:
Sounds like you guys had a great time.

It's a very nice river I just wish it had been a little more stained. You could see forever through that water, I mean 6 feet deep crystal clear. I'll get the hang of catching them there with practice. I guess that just means that I have to go up to Mossy's house more often! :D

Wished the trout bit better but I guess the front that moved in messed up the biting...
I cant believe what I did to my fly rod after you guys left...
The screen door slammed on the tip of my rod about 1 1/2 ft down and snapped it into ;(
is there anyway I can get it repaired or do I have to buy another upper section ??????

Awesome! I showed my pic from last week to some friends and relatives at the Christmas Eve party tonight and now there are more people begging....
FYI - I learned today that the Cartecay used to hold the Rainbow state record bc of the old chicken factory/houses on it back int he 70's. I'm guessing that kept the population strong for a long time, at least until everyone added feeders.
I thought the front might help if it hit at the right time but I guess not. Sorry you didn't catch more fish but at least no one was skunked.
Mossy, what did you catch the big one on today? Let's see a pic!
Have a very merry Christmas folks!

Chicken houses?? all that chicken poop huh? made'm grow big..
Dad of plenty took the picture of the fish I caught, he has to get it developed, we snapped off a pic and I released him..
What do I do about my broken rod tip???????
when you wanna come back up and fish somemore?
My waders & boots did great, except when I took a dip after busting my butt , hard to catch yourself when the water is over your head when you are sitting down ;(

Glad you came up, it was fun, though cold water huh? we both busted our butts on the slick rocks...
I guess the water was too clear for those trout, but atleast you didn't get skunked...
Thx for buying me the neoprene gloves & giving me the line threader, you are a great guy ! I dont care what they say about you ! ;)
You are welcome anytime my friend...

It was my pleasure. I hada great time and itwas good to get Tyler and Robbie's mind off of thier current "situations".
What kind of rod do you have and who makes it? Most decent rods have an unconditional lifetime guarantee. They will fix it for a small fee. My TFO will fix it for $25 and my Sage for $30.
Call me and I'll come back soon.

I sure could have used the stain on Dukes yesterday. You better get out there and wet a line Garrett. The fish will be letting down their guard a little ;)
Let me know if you want to get out this week. I won't forget the beer next time :)
