Ive only fished it once and Im not too familiar with it. I have an opportunity to take a newbie out tomorrow and show him the basics. Can anyone endulge on some secrets as to where to fish, how far to walk down, flies, etc? I usually would enjoy taking the time to find this out on my own but I only get my friend for one day and dont want to waste the day trying to learn the stream. Anybody care to share some insight?

Thanks!

I fished there Tuesday (09:30 - 14:00), and it was slow. Foot traffic ovewr the weekend must have been extremely heavy, and the fish acted both cold and shell-shocked. I don't know if it picked up as the day warmed up.

My best catches were in deep shade, in both deep and skinny water.

Russ (huntfish) is the man for Smith's. I have fished it several times, but in no way am I an expert.
Walk, keep walking, walk some more. Get well downstream before fishing. There is plenty of water to fish. Take it slow, fish the undercut banks methodically. Be stealthy. Slow and deep produce for me.
