Best river to take a 10 yr old wading?

My 10 yr old is chomping at the bit to go fly fish with me, and I am as excited about taking him. Just got a set of waders that fit him as well, and he has his own rod/reel.

Where is the best place to take him that he can comfortably wade? Atl area or up in the mtns/Helen area. He is about 4'8" tall and very strong and athletic. Thanx

While there are several rivers he could wade in safely, I'd say take him to Smiths Creek up at Helen. It's a narrow creek, but there are a few open areas for him to cast and the thing is full of trout. So long as you don't go after a huge rain, the flow should be light enough for him to wade with little to no problems.
