Took my son and grandson tallulah based on info from a member who had seen a pod of fish tuesday a week ago-figured they might have stocked it over the holidays- they must have as caught 13 stockers primarily on panther martins-then went to soque for some bigger fish and caught 6 up to 6 pounds-grandson caught his largest ever around a three pounder-he is 15 from macon- had a great time- thanks for the tip on the tallulah-went last friday

six pounds...! sounds like you were fishing on some private water

we were-though I have caught four pounders and a beautiful 6.5 pounder at the public section at the bridge over the soque-we also paid to fish a couple fo years ago- and caught and released 37 up to 8lbs-cost around $300 for my son and I to fish for the day. Great time but expensive

How do you get to the public section of the Soque? Like if I was coming from Marietta.

i had heard at one time that they do some winter stockings on the Tallulah. not knowing for sure i fished it in November just before thanksgiving. caught 6 including a 17" brown. my wife hung her first ever trout. almost landed it. we released them all. does anyone know for sure if they do stock any in the winter months? i know they did last year like a month before the season started according to GON. also would like to know if there is a campground nearby that is open during the winter. i'm not one of the lucky ones that can make the Tallulah a day trip..about a 2 1/2 hour drive for me.
