I'm heading up to Tallulah for the first time this sunday and thought I get some pointers from you guys that are familiar with the river. I think we are headed to the section off of Persimmon Rd. Any recommendations?

I hear it's going to be starting to warm up after this cold snap. Could be good for the fishing.

There are 4 bridge crossings up to where Charlie's Creek comes in; your best bet is probably to stay at least above the 1st and below the 4th. There's some good water elsewhere but more productive in this stretch IMO.

If it's clear, take your polarized glasses and sight fish. Shouldn't be much of a problem. Park only in the designated areas and thank the WRD for dropping the previously-required $2 day parking pass on Tallulah.

On a mild Sunday with the Falcons not in the playoffs, you may have to compete with a few folks but this time of year isn't quite as bad as the summer.

Best of luck! I know there are some hawgs in there; hope you drag a few out.

there are also some good stretches before the first bridge. just before and just after the campground on t.r. road. good luck.

There's also a great swimming hole in that section if you feel froggy.
