James - I understand you are giving a Toccoa River fishing seminar at the AFFF show this weekend. If I'm in town, I would love to catch it, as God knows that river can give me fits. What day & time? Thanks - Bob

Sageboy,

Here's the schedule.

Looks like 9:30 and 12:30 on Saturday. Because there is no 9:30 slot on Sunday, it looks like only 12:30 on sunday.

Don't laugh, but I had to read here to find out what time I was going on...

Yep, come on down; the early slot may be a little thin, but I'm hoping for some crowds in the later shows. This isn't a grip and grin slide show, I am going to show you how to fish the Toccoa River on your own; what flies to use, where to access the river, float times, fish behavior, hatches...While I have been guiding on the Toccoa for a decade now, I like to show folks the hows and whys of the river because the more educated anglers are about the river, the more then can get out of the fishery.

James,
I really enjoyed your talk. I talked with you at the end about the black bead v. gold bead theory, and I have really been thinking about it this afternoon. I tied some nymphs up with a regular black bead, and I colored a few of my existing gold bead head flies in with a black marker...Actually they look very similar to the black beads I purchased, and the "shine" difference is pretty much unnoticeable. That was one of the things I was worried about. So, I am going to be putting your theory to the test, and the more I think about it the more I think you've gotta be right. I am exicted to see what happens, and think this will be a great experiement.
