These both came out of wild streams.
Hey Richie- that is one fat brown. Did you open her up to see if she had been eating mice or baby ducks?

If you look closely at the first photo, you can see the tail of a rainbow that was being consumed by the brown. The second photo shows the rainbow after being extracted. And yes, the brown still tried to eat my fly. The fish was extremely lathargic during the fight and sat within arms reach of me for a good 10 minutes after being released before slowly swimming back into the hole.

I saw this posted on another message board.

29.5" caught on the Watauga tailwater. Interesting fact was that he caught it in a creek as the main river was full of mud.

My first trout on a fly rod. Caught on the Missouri river tailrace just above Helena MT last year. Its 20" long and I caught it on a big black wooly bugger.

Here's one of mine.....20" landed on a lightning bug. This was actually the first brown I ever landed on a fly rod.

Here is one of my favorite browns of all time, mainly because its a wild fish from the Pere Marquette in Michigan, a very technical piece of water. Put up a great fight and had some really beautiful spots and coloring.
Measured 18.5.
