I am bringing my family to Blue Ridge in February and am staying in a cabin on the Toccoa called River Escape. It says it is very near the “fish trap” section of the river. Other than this area just behind our cabin, can you recommend any other local spots for a day of fun on the water? Thanks for anything you can offer.

That is one of the coolest things I have ever seen!
My son is a train freak and for his 3rd birthday we took him on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway and it follows the Toccoa. That fishtrap was a neat thing to see. Looks like a big "V" in the river made out of stones. They say that the indians would chase the fish into the "V" and right into baskets at the point of the "V".
Hey!! If your fly rod fails ya, have the kids chase a few for ya!!

I would suggest Horseshoe bend park if the release is fishable. As a point of interest in the area, you might want to take your family to the fish hatchery in suches. A neat thing to see and do and its a beautiful drive out there. You can also fish Rock Creek while your there.
