well aint that a pisser. Down in Mosquito Lagoon last weekend to help my dad break in his new boat and all we got were a few trout, lots o boat traffic, and not much else..and then you post that picture.... arrrgh.
what a heck of a fish thought!! I did though see a few big black tails at this particular causeway where i have been teased by those drum before.... they are some big ole fish, but cannot for the life of me figure out what flies they want. I chucked half the box at them. Next time I guess gotta break out the live blue crab maybe??

Twice I have had a chance to go down to the NMZ in January and fish for Black Drum. It is an amazing place. First time out I had 11 Drum eat my fly but only got one hook up. But that hook up only lasted for about 30 seconds. It really is a rush though wading up to 20 to 30 pound fish and casting to them. And then if they are "drumming" you can feel it in your legs.

I'm in daily contact with my yakeroo group down there. Give me a yell before heading down, be glad to share info.

That red blew up Ned's 8wt. but had him close enough to grab, good case of redfish thumb though.

Guys have not been having much luck recently, bouncing the fly box off their heads with few takes. Picky fish for shure, somes days they'll eat anything but never when I'm down.
