As far as the fly originator, I think I (Buck Henry) am it. I got my inspiration by jazzing up a GRHE pattern with a flashy tail, then kept adding more
flashy stuff and then a pair of biot wings until I ended up with what you
see in the picture. Please feel free to edit as required and thanks in
advance for posting this to the forum. Please email with any
questions. .

Here is the recipe:

* Start with a size 14 2X shank nymph hook and add a gold bead head and
some lead wraps.
* Tie in 5 or 6 small pieces of gold holographic tinsel for the tail.
* Tie in a section of gold wire, then dub the body with some tan
colored dubbing (I used Australian Possum, but any buggy dubbing will do).
Once dubbed, counter wrap with your wire and secure.
* Dub the thorax area with this stuff called "Prism Dubbing" I got it
at Orvis. The color I used is Orange, but again I bet any color would
do. This stuff is kind of hard to work with, but is full of twinkle and
flash!.
* Finish the fly off by tying in two rust brown goose biots wings
placed on the side of the fly, tied off right at the bead head. I guess the
wings are somewhat optional, but it gives the fly a really cool look.
* Whip finish and you are done

Fishing tips: fly is weighted, so fish it like any heavy nymph: dead
drift with a strike indicator (or not) and hang on for the strikes.
This fly has proven to be very effective on the Hooch DH and the lower
Toccoa.

Hey, Josh, this fly works great! I have tied very similar patterns to this and I can tell you firs hand it works! One secret I have found is that when all else fails use more orange or peach in your colors, olive or black work well however I believe the fish like a change of pace and I have had much success. Thanks for the great pic and recipe.
