:D got up to waters creek around 12:00 today and did pretty good. Had luck with copper johns (green, and red), black stone fly, emerger patterns, flash back HE. Towards the end of the day the rain started to pick up and I put on a big and ugly fly and hooked up with a monster! The fish ended up breaking me off.... :bang: not because I held down on the fly line, not because the tippet was too light, not because my dragg was too tight....more along the lines of the monster rainbow (I'd say 24 inches) went airborne and got my line stuck in a creek side bush (2 feet out of the water) and started to roll until the line went POP! So if you see a monster trout with a ..................in his mouth let me know you landed that beast. ended up bringing 21 to hand. Awesome day to be on the creek

video camera. That would have been great to get on video.
We, NGTO, should start collecting video clips of our fishing trips and put them together for a southern video feature of the rivers we all fish. I think it would be a big hit. I remember back when Leroy Powell did a Georgia Outdoors episode on fly fishing in north Georgia. Features like that are so few and far between. We could do a bunch of releases like the Buckmaster's do and have one for Waters, one for Dukes, one for the Chattooga, etc.
Just a day dream,

I'm a producer/editor for a local news conglomerate. If you start this mission, I have the resources to make it happen. I have been interested in shooting a doc/entertainment style piece for the pleasure of our brethren of the fly for a long time.
Start shooting!!

Lets not forget the good 'ol Hooch for a sequence or two as well!
I just had a feeling it was going to work out after your morning at Dukes. If I hadn't had to work, I would have been up there myself.
,,,,,,,,,by the way, that fly wasn't that nasty looking thing hanging off your vest over at Dukes was it? I almost asked about that thing but just kind of dismissed it as a desparation fly since things were tough. Looked like something trying to eat your fly patch!
Hope we can meet up again and fish. Enjoyed visiting with you guys-

Something along the lines of "Feeding Time"...Raw, not too finished, Southeastern fishing bum side of fly fishing...Think you could "expand" your scope to Alabama and Tennessee???

21 on Waters! You suck Ritchie. I hate you, well not really. I'm glad you had a good day though. We need to go somewhere again before your big move. Let me know.

If you like Feeding Time, you'll love the Trout Bum Diaries Patagonia Adventure. You want pure trout addiction, they bring it. Buy this one and drool. Also for a blast from the past, the newly released Lee Wulff classics are out in a two DVD set. 16 mm film, classic style, makes you LOVE your choice in sport. I just got it and have watched it over and over.

Are as gritty and stripped down as it gets! I've really enjoyed the films that show a aspect of fly fishing that is not "brimmed" hats , wicker creel baskets, clean waders, and perfect fishing conditions. Trout Bum Diaries is along side Stacy Peralta's "Riding Giants" , "Dogtown", and "Decline of the Western Civilization"....When are you going to start collecting footage? Brad Walker's-Psycho Fishers- Fishing Gypsies is suppose to be some cool work also...
