Camped and fished RC last weekend. Wow, it was bursting with mayflies and midges! There was some serious surface action! White Wulff matched the cream colored mayflies that I think were light cahills...
The midges were out in force hatching all day.
Caught a few nicies in the riffles below the first major camp area, then the rest of dinner was taken above the church. Dry White Wulffs, Royal Wulff/soft hackle dropper worked great.
KILLER storm on Saturday night :yikes:
Thought I was going to drift away in my tent.
Many corn chuckers, but what the hell, it's fun to fish circles around them with a dry fly.
Rock Creek is as tight as any you'd ever want to see, but it's where I first cast a fly rod, on a solo mission, knowing it would change my life. I always love paying homage to that sacred ground. I've come a long way in casting since then but it still sparks four letter words numerous times a day with all that brush!!
