Wife and I had a mini vacation. Headed up to do a little back-packing and fishing. Hiked in Sat. evening and left Tues. am.

Man, what a spectacular time I had. I fished like a fiend, stopping during the heat of the day to swim and hike, and lay around camp. Caught many, many fish. Only drawback: no biguns. But I caught more streamborn fish in the 10-11" inch range than I have for a long time. Mostly dries, few little beadhead droppers, even dredged one morning and dragged a streamer during a rainstorm after dark. Got tons of pics.

We went here:

I also hiked and fished up here:

Here's a stunning little native I caught:

There were some of these around:

And of course, caught plenty of these:

And a couple of these:

Brought the mask and snorkel and spent a happy hour or two getting close and personal with the habitat. Put the underwater camera case through its paces. I'll try this and see if it works--here's a short video. Bigger fish is a horny-head, the other is a warpaint shiner.

That video is awesome. Was that done through a point and shoot digital? And what kind of UW case did you have?

Taken with a Cannon SD30.

Waterproof case looks like this.

The waterproff case is $100 but worth it imo. I dropped the last camera in the water and now I know better. The video is actually clearer than what you see because photobucket compresses it. I'm gonna do some real underwater shooting this summer.

Here's either a white sucker or a stoneroller (not sure). About 7" long.
