Took a day of work yesterday to fish with Kyle (www.riverthroughatlanta.com) and Julie. It has been quite a while since I fished the Hooch. It was a beautiful day - highs in low 80s and the water was very clear.

It was one of those days you hear about but rarely experience (or at least I rarely experience).

Launched the boat around 10a, just Kyle and me. Fished upstream for about an hour with just a few fish brought to the boat. Started drifting down past the ramp working the logs on both banks and the occasional shoal/rocks. Started getting into fish around 11:15 - 11:30. In fact, we were "sight nymphing" if you can believe that. The water was so clear.

Picked up Julie and lunched. Then headed downstream again with the same game plan - logs that line the banks and shoals. At one area where the logs line the banks, it was really one fish after another. Complaints of "my arm hurts" followed by laughter were heard the rest of the afternoon.

The fly of the day was any nymph with a little flash and enough weight to get it near the bottom.
