braved the miserable heat today for a while. fish were not on whatsoever ..... however did catcha few smaller fish and one well bigger one. nothing was difinitive as far as fly selection .....
the water is very low yet somewhat stained ... however once one fish was caught in a hole. ..... the hole was done.
hurry and fish this if you can ..... if not the water may be so low in a few moments nothing will be fishable

Been there last wednesday for the first time and enjoyed the place very much. Saw lots of big ones, hooked one, did not managed to bring it to the net... Water was still and slow, and low of course...
And now just one and may be stupid question. I understand and fully agree with all heavy regulations about this creek. I just don't get one thing, I HAVE TO SIGN IN AND SIGN OUT. What is it for?

Heavy Rain! :D

I'm guessing, but here it goes... sign in/out required so that DNR/USFS can monitor usage and success of their managment at Waters... Also Waters may be under consideration for change in regs... there is another thread which discusses this issue... there have been some problems at Waters (poaching, otters, tornadoes), so data about number of anglers and their success is crucial.
Dukes at SGW also requires sign in (and more)... so due to the intense and costly management, both of Ga's public trophy trout streams need data on usage/success.

Well... The weather was good - hot and clear, mood was perfect and fish was waiting... :D
Landed two, 10" and 23" rainbows. The big one was my FIRST EVER TROUT of that size.
Saturday, July 1st.
