We have had a wonderful late spring and early summer her in NW PA. The bay has just reached the mid 70's and the bass fishing has been a lot of fun. Now, I realize that is not worth mentioning in and of itself. Wait! There is more! The fun part is that the bay is very shallow on the peninsula side. You can wade for an eternity! It is sort of like flats fishing with weeds! about a month ago the smallmouth was really hot. Now it is mostly largemout bass, brim, perch and a occassional pike. I saw some huge carp thrashing around one morning, but they weren't feeding. The best part is, you can use the fly rod for all these fish in the same area! It will definately hold me over until the fall runs bring in the steelhead. I hope to get out in the morning and then I will give a better update. We have had some rain recently and I'm sure the water temps have been affected. Until then ...

Went out the other morning and got one nice largemouth on a popper. The wind was blowing really hard and the waves were a little high to be wading so far out. I hope to get out on the 3rd or 4th. I did a lot of wading and checking out spots to see what was there. Great looking water!
