Got to wet a line a few times while at the beach this past weekend. Unfortunately nothing great to report.
Fished out at Tire Reef on Sunday with a friend who has his boat there for the summer. After loading up on bait we headed out in flat seas. Caught 6 Spanish Mackeral all around 26", 2 Barracuda and 3 Kingfish that were all 1" short of being legal. All in all a good day to be on the water.
Since we were in Palmetto Dunes I took my father in laws canoe out a few times to fish the lagoons. Took the boys with me and loaded them up with shrimp. They caught at least 50 little Pinfish while we were there. Lots of fun for them on some light rods while I played around with my flyrod. Hooked my first Tarpon on the fly in the lagoons! But unfortunately I long released about an 18-24" fish. No Redfish this time, but I found a new hole that I'm gonna hit the next time down. ;)
