We got into "Bama brookie" territory further downstream..

Great time on the water..We didn't see anyone else until we started back up toward the car. The guy with jeans, cowboy boots, no shirt, rifle ala' shoulder strap and no teeth, reminded us that we were "home"...

Now that's purty!!! I love spots that have been in clear water for a long time. They get that diamond back thing going on. Almost as pretty as the redeyes with the blue cheeks.

Maybe it's just the perspective, but those beds looked huge! Made even more believeable by the split tails on the spot and long ear.

And those blue cheeks on the BBs are spectacular. Great photos.

"Bama brookies." I love it.

Fanstastic report and photos! I love that bed pic and always appreciate amphibian pics. I'm surprised that the fish were on the beds soooo late. Seems like the bed action ended in the ponds around here over a month ago.

So...is it the cooler water in the stream, different strain of fish, or am I just missing the action round here? Anyone know?

Thanks for the great report.

6 feet..Some of the largest I have personally seen..Flyg..These were all green-ear, red-breast, and warmouth..This is actually the 2nd spawn and it's going on 65 miles away here in Birmingham..
