Anyone have any info on te Davidson in Brevard, NC? is the water still really low? Anyone have a suggestin for allternatives in the area for the weekend?

it is running at 42 cfs .... it is quite low

The main flow is low but fishable, the upper section above the junction with Avery Creek near the hatchery will literally have no water. Fish some of the deep runs on the Davidson early and late and you might get into some nice fish.

Most of the streams in GSMNP are at a pretty good flow. Short pop up storms have been keeping things wet enough for a few weeks now. Same with streams just to the south. I was on Snowbird yesterday and flows were decent for mid-August.

With the water level and flow as low as it is, any fish caught will already be stressed and it is likely that any fight at all will result in a dead fish, even if he/she swims away from you on release. Is that statement an absolute? No, but it will be true too often to take the chance, IMHO.

Try else where for a while, at least until the flow is regularly above 65-70 CFS. Check here:
