What is that supposed to be? I'm running OS X. Will it not work?
Pretty cool. Went from the "what the...?" stage to adding it to MyYahoo in about 5 min.
I got new cell phone this week too so I am teetering on the edge of techno overload!
I'm technologically ignorant and/or I missed the news conference on this. Can somebody explain what the acronym FSS stands for and what it does for NGTO.
Speck, look at all the smilies.:rotfl:
EG I couldn't go there... (but reeeealllly wanted to) :o
I did a search after I came to grips with my uncoolness
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication." It’s a format that web sites and blogs can use to send updated headlines to you via various services (such as My Yahoo). Syndication means you don't have to visit each site individually to see what's new -- you simply scan headlines or brief article summaries and click to read the full text.
One quick way to use it that I found: http://my.yahoo.com/s/rss-faq.html#whatrss
That is all that I know. End of my knowledge. Period.
What it means to me is that I can see customized snapshots of news headlines and new/updated posts from NGTO and elsewhere in one place on my browser page.
You kind of have to try it and see.
YMMV
TH
Doesn't seem to be updating.
I set up one for BBC news and it has been active and shows various updated stories from less than an hour ago to like 4 hours ago
NGTO content is stuck at 19 hours now...and only those threads in the code at URL link at the start of this thread.
help...
Ah Spinboy, another Mac user. It is very easy to set up. If you are using Safari, open the link that Aaron posted above. When it is open, just drag and drop the URL to your bookmarks bar across the top of Safari. Now it is set up. As new post are added to NGTO you will see a number beside your bookmark. Just click on the bookmark and watch the magic.
Thanks, Ted.
Now that I know what you all are talking about I realize I see these things (and often use them) everyday.

Fisher.....men,
This RSS contains a DTD (Document Type Definition). DTDs are used to define a structure of a webpage.
Internet Explorer does not support DTDs in feeds.
This may be the reason it can not be opened.

Phlyster, if you use an RSS or blog reading service like Bloglines (or any of the others) just insert the NGTO link into the reader and you can see all posts that were created in the last 24 hours, 72 hours, etc.
