Some new rain and a break in the heat have helped things out on the bigger water. I've been sticking to the water over 3000' for a while, but went lower today. I was up on Little River today and the fish were as active as I've seen them in a while. Very little insect activity, but plenty of fresh golden stonefly husks were on the rocks. Did well with a basic Parachute Adams fished in the pockets and riffles. Most fish were 6-7" with a couple 9-10". This was in the vicinity of Elkmont. Didn't every try a nymph, but figure the response could have been even better.
