alright guys...sorry this isn't a trout photo but its beyond Georgia so I can put it in this thread :) Today my buddy and I went dove hunting (it was my first trip) and I tell you want...I'm hooked! I had so much but dang those jokers fly fast! This is gonna be my new fix since I can't find trout in Oklahoma w/out driving 3-4 hours

I dont hunt much anymore now that my dad lives so far away, but we use to hunt quail a good bit and they really are fun. If you think they are fast, you should try hunting grouse. I hunted for them every weekend from about 13-19 yrs old, and even then it was incredibly tough to knock one down.

Was that a stocked or native dove? ;)
I couldn't tell from the pic but it looked like a stocker. Dull gray color, wing tips worn down from the concrete, probably didn't fly as fast as a native bird. :D
JK about all that, but they are some tasty eating. Dove and dumplings is one of my favorites.

Aren't you supposed to wet your hands before handling one of those things? :hammers:

Yeah I think you're right! I was gonna wet my hands but all the water in the state of oklahoma evaporated due to the ridiculous heat...haha! Duck season opens this saturday....!
