ARRRRR, me thinks it should be a pirate's word, to plunder.

As in, "Lock me in the closet with the captains daughter,

Early in the morning.

Okay I'll speak for James and have him jump on and correct me if Im wrong. The word Rapacious in the context which he wrote means:

predatory: living by preying on other animals especially by catching living prey

Thanks Rob, its just I can't remember the last time while reading a fishing article I had to pull the dictionary out. I kind of skimmed over it, the word rapacious that is, kind of clicked like ravenous, but wasn't ravenous.

rapacious \ruh-PAY-shuhs\, adjective:
1. Given to plunder; seizing by force.
2. Subsisting on prey.
3. Grasping; greedy.

And because its great we have access to authors such as James on this board, I thought I would tease or rib him a little. Hopefully make him smile. These fish do plunder and I for one thought the article was great. I would describe muskie and striper as rapacious also. Maybe; hopefully, this adjective has been used in other fishing related articles and I missed it. I personally hope James's use was the first.

you're talking about the American Angler article, right? If so, I don't remember that word, but I did enjoy the article James. Sounds just like what it means to me. :pop: Gave me something good to read while I was rotting away in the uncomfortable hospital room chair last week.
