Last REGULAR day of the best part of the year today. What do you guys think? Here are my predictions:
Florida 31
Arkansas 21
Oklahoma 17
Nebraska 16
Wake 27
GT 24
Anyone think UCLA has a prayer today? I certainly hope so. I'm a big Bruins fan today. I'm sick of USC.
And I'm not going to dignify Conf USA with a prediction.

38-10???? If that happens, Wake is the most overrated team of the year!
I like the GT vs Reggie prediction.

Chan has the plan, throwing it up to CJ but end around on 3rd and 1???? When you run the ball for 150 against a UGA defense one week, you don't run trick plays on 3rd and 1 the next, especially against WAKE!!! Stupid...

 Wake Forest ACC Champions!!! Whowouldathunkit?
The bowl committees will be ashamed to take such a miserable excuse for a football team as the appropriately named Wreck.
Rumor has it Sherwin Williams is sponsoring the ACC Championship next year so viewers have option of watching paint dry instead. :p

Thanks for the memories, Reggie.
There's no way in hell he graduated so it's ok with me if he wants to stick around and play next year. Is it ok with you, Spinboy?:D

I've been saying all along: Hey Hey, Ho Ho, Reggie B don't have to go!
I didn't expect this daggum shootout from the SEC. What is up with all the offense in the Big 10, SEC, Big 12 and then 9-6 in the ACC, 10-6 in the Big Least????
My pics are looking good though. I picked Wake by 3 and FU by 10. I guess I shoulda bet heavy on the spreads (if I were a gambling man).
Hey Pete Carrol...........Up yours.

Well to start with I would like to thank Reggie Ball for making life as a Bulldog alot easier. Kudos to spin on the predictions. Now lets just hope that the rest of America knows what I have known for years. The SEC is the toughest SOB in the country and any team going 11-1 in it deserves a shot to play for the national championship. As much as I have hated and slammed the Gators you cant tell me Michigan is better than they are.

Could we trade Chan and Reggie for Richt and Stafford? Hell, how about any other coach and quaterback?

Spinboy,
I take exception to the "Big Least" comment.... :)
My mountaineers let me down last week, but this week, with a redshirt freshman at quarterback and the same porous defense we've had all season, a great game!
I guess all I can say is, I'm happy that our backup quarterback is better than the two quarterbacks in the ACC championship game...

What kind of play calling is a "Hail Mary" chuck, about every 3-4 plays? Just shows how desperate this Reggie character must be,to pull one out! PITIFUL support for a great defense, that with a balanced offense, would have won this one! Wake deserved it.......better coached and one play did it! I congratulate them and only add that it will be further humiliating to drop a bowl game to Wake Forest! Not depressed, just disappointed, Regards, Rocketroy
With you all the way Rocketroy...not depressed at all, just disappointed. But, from all the posts on this thread from the Bulldawgs, I take great comfort knowing that Reggie supplied those puppies with something to talk about...otherwise, what else could they do on Championship Saturday except :bawl: ?

The Big East was far more impressive this year than anyone but a fan would've believed and that great game last night was evidence of that, though with those losses by their top ranked teams to Cincinatti and South Florida, they lost some of the respect they were getting. I really made that comment as in, they were both playing an impressive defensive game which is unlike the Big East in years past. As a dawg fan, I guess I can't bark too loudly at you because of losses to Vandy and KU but the SEC's top teams had no such losses. They only beat each other. Auburn beats Florida. Florida beats LSU. Arkansas beats Auburn. Arkansas' non-conference loss was to USC! ETC. The dawgs were not even in the mix this year and were quite overrated to kick off the season. That being said, I hope some losses today will stick us back up in the rankings.
Onto bowl issues.....ND in the Sugar Bowl? Give me a break. They are only getting a BCS bid because they have a built in nationwide fan base (also the reason for their ranking). I'm glad OU got back in there. IMHO, they are #2. The Pac-10 officials royally screwed them out of a chance at the title game. Bob Stoops is the best dang coach out there right now. He gets screwed at Oregon, loses the top running back in the country and reels off 7 straight impressive wins and man-handles NU in the Big 12 championship. I sure wish they were up there tight because that would just be more tar and feathers for the BCS advocates, like that jackass anouncer on ESPN last night. Yes, you would have to rethink the way bowls were played but so what? Those playoffs would be ten times more exciting IMHO, especially if they went to a 24 team format like D2 did a couple of years ago. All ranked teams, save 1, would actually have a title to play for instead of the Emerald Nuts bowl trophy.......It would also shut up Boise as they would be lucky to get past the first round and I'd be more surprised if they won 2 playoff games than if "I woke up with my head sewn to the carpet" -Clark Griswold

Well, Lets just see how the pride of the ACC Demon Deacons do in their bowl game. I suspect they will not fare well. The ACC is down this year or they would have never won the championship. Tech would have never played in it! Just wondering.....how many times has Tech won the ACC? I hope enough times to suit them because adding 3 football schools in the last few years has almost assured them of very few return trips to the championship game. They are a basketball school and thats fine but football is king down south!

Despite the loss to Wake and Georgia we are still happy Tech fans around here, at least the few Tech fans there are around here. You might be wondering why we are happy, it's because we only have 1 more game with Reggie "Interception" Ball.:D

at least WVU doesn't have much defense Tech fans. However, I'm not so sure big Joe Anoia (sp) can catch Brandon Slaton and Reggie is bound to go out with a bang, and by that I mean a 2-25 game with 4 int's.

I've said it before, I'll say it again.......Glad Reggie is 1 game away from gone.
But the coaching staff appears to be here for a while! Reggie wasn’t calling the plays; we desperately need an offensive coordinator with a plan.

I can't exactly remember the BCS dilema in 2004, (I know it was different than this year) I just remember that Auburn was the undefeated SEC champ and didn't go to the Orange bowl to play in the national Championship.
As much as i hate Florida, I feel they deserve to go this year more than Michigan, (since USC lost to UCLA) but I sorto've cringe when I think of how they're a one loss team from the SEC going to the BCS title game, and Auburn didn't get to go in 04'. Can anyone refresh my memory as to how that happened?

USC beat an undefeated Oklahoma team soundly and Auburn won their game big but got virutally 0 votes over USC.

Reggie Ball has been the best player on Georgia's team for 4 years now. It is about time for him to go. As for Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl, who else is gonna go? It can't be Wisconsin, Auburn, or Arkansas. That leaves Notre Dame, West Virginia, and Virginia Tech. The latter two teams don't stand a chance when it comes to a "national following." I'm not defending Notre Dame, in fact I don't think they deserve a BCS game, they got blown out by USC and Michigan and didn't beat anyone impressive. It's all about the money, Notre Dame fans spend it and people will watch 'em to see 'em lose.
Auburn is the big loser here, they beat Florida and LSU and get the Cotton Bowl, that loss to UGA killed 'em.
I look forward to the day when we have an 8 team playoff.

Why not Wisconsin??? 11-1!!! I agree with no Arkansas with 3 losses but Auburn with only 2??? Why the hell not? My main problem with the selection is the fact that it's about the money. Freakin Notre Dame was 1 Reggie play away from losing to Tech for God's sake. Greedy SOB's. I think a big reason some of the conference tie-ins were thrown out was to leave room for ND and that really ticks me off.:pissed:

was somewhat similar to this year. Except, you had 3 undeafted teams. USC, Auburn and Oklahoma. Auburn started-out lower in the polls and was the "surprise team" that year. No one expected them to go undeafted. Anyway, the week before the BSC selection, Stoops of Okla, began campaigning for the sooners, commenting on their "strenght of schedule", "style points", etc... unfortunately, Tubbs said nothing except "let the system decide". Well, the system put OU in the game against USC and got drilled by about 50 points. Not sure Auburn could have won either, but USC sure wouldn't have put 50 on that team. Also, now Tubbs runs his mouth all the time about the BSC... How times have changed.. Don't get me going about 04 again.:bang:

I agree with you Im still mad for Auburn as Im a Bulldog first and an SEC fan second. Cheer up Tech boys it will get better when Reggie leaves I also celebrated when Quincy (7 ints (I think against SC) in one game) Carter left to temporarily disgrace the Cowboys. Seems like some coaches are determined to go down with the ship(quarterback) even if they lose their job.

It is in the rules of the system that the BCS cannot select more than 2 teams from one conference. So Wisconsin, Auburn, and Arkansas got the shaft. Those three teams are better than Wake Forest and Boise St, so obviously it is not about promoting who is the best in the country, that is what the championship game is for.
Just remember this isn't even the worst year for the BCS. Think back to 2003 when USC got left out of the national championship game and Oklahoma went after losing their conference championship. LSU beat em down. That was just wrong. I think it has happened before that too with Nebraska. They went to the championship and got killed by Miami.
It is a flawed system that promotes those teams that garner national media attention and money.

is the only answer. Folks from the big 10 don't won't to admit that they played ONE LESS GAME than those that had conference championships! What if OSU had to play Mich again in a championship game (in a neutral site) right after their game? In the ACC, big 12 and SEC, after the season, the two teams with the best records, have to play again! I say, let's go back to everybody playing 11 games (like it was last year) then have a playoff begin with the 12th game for everybody who has a chance for the NC. At least then the NC would be decided on the field.
