My son and daughter-in-law are expecting their first- a son. We found out late yesterday that she has pre-eclampsya (sp), and they will be doing a c-section today at 2PM. Baby is 33 -34 weeks and approximately 3-1/2lbs.
Please pray for Michael, Hillary and little Richie Steven. Thanks and Blessings!

Praise God from whom ALL blessings flow!!

Richie Steven made his way into the world today at 2;23 PM, "kicking and screaming" (thats a good thing). He is 17 inches long, and 4 pounds even. Mom is doing good, and Richie is in the NICU at St Mary's hospital in Athens. He is breathing fine on his own with no need for oxygen, the neonatal Dr said that he is doing great for a 6 week preemie. The staff expect Richie to be in NICU for 2 weeks, then to regular nursery. We hope to have him home before the end of June. :cross: They usually they wait until the original due date for dismissal, but it appears we will be well ahead of that for his coming out party. :)

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers. We serve a GREAT GOD!!

I told my wife this evening that I've got to find Richie a fly rod. Something in bamboo, about 6ft, 4wt, honey blonde, with a crisp dry fly action. Of course, I'll have it broken in for him. ;)

That is fantastic news grandpa!! Hey, I think you should go ahead and put in an order for one of Bill Oyster's rods now- you do need to get in broken in ASAP, ya' know.

If I ordered an Oyster, it would be for PAWPAW, not Richie. Richie can use my Tonka Prince, or one of the others that would be gathering dust. The Oyster would be mine, all mine!

You say that until he wants to use it, then it's. "O.K. Ritchie...here's the Oyster."

Congrats Paw Paw!!

CONGRATS !!!!!!! It is wonderful to hear that everyone is doing well!!!!
Now, This is your once in a lifetime chance to spend the money on an oyster rod and have the blessing of the wife. Just explain to her that , it is to become a family heirloom, Something that little richie will treasure all of his adult life, Something to remind him of his grandpaw :) Duck here comes the frying pan ;)

I just might run that scenario by MeeMaw (SWMBO). I don't think it will get anywhere, but who knows?
I imagine that the answer will be kinda like "WHAT?!! Why don't you give him one of those other heirlooms you have propped up in the corner? And don't think that I don't know about that one behind the piano either! How many others do you have hidden that I don't know about?"

But I can't complain. She's one heck of a great wife, and very supportive of my addic...err, hobby. If I cut a great deal on a rod she says go for it. I even got her to help me in refinishing a rod a while back. So who knows? Maybe, just maybe......

Just wanted to post an update and a thankyou for all your prayers. Richie is doing great. At 6-7 weeks premature, he never needed any extra oxygen, he lost about 3-1/2 to 4 ounces, but has gained it back and as of last night is on the plus side of his birth weight. He is feeding every 3 hours and gaining strength. Mom and dad are doing great. Just can't wait to get him home to Dewy Rose!!

Bill,
My son Adam was a 6 week preemie, too. He's a Junior in college now and will be 22 his next birthday and is an eating machine. God works in ways that I don't understand many times, but He's always there. Our continued prayers are for Richie, you, and your family.

That is fantastic news! Be sure to bring some pictures on Saturday. Also, let's all continue to remember those in our group who have lost precious little ones.

I have and will continue to pray for your grandson, daughter and your family.

Jesus said: Ask anything of the Father in My Name and He will do it!

That is so neat, Jesus said go to the Father and tell him I sent you, Wow

Praise His Holy Name and God Bless Ya'll, Slider

PS: We will have us another little fly fisherman, today!

Preacher--Congrats on the birth of that new Grandson. Prayers of the NGTO have certainly been answered. Now for the new fly rod--MeeMaw says no way--have you considered one of those new born life time sportsman license? Don't know what you think of them, but just a thot from the peanut gallery.
