Well guys, this is one heavy fly. It's a size 4 streamer

Basic wooly bugger except I tie in a bit of flash I got from the orvis warehouse sale and some other extras

recipe

Hook: Mustad 3x streamer size 4
Tail: Black Maraboo with a few strands of flash
body: Medium black flash chenille with lead underwrap
Hackle: Charcoal grey
legs: red and black bass jig skirts
eyes: Medium sized dumbells

I imagine that you can tie this in a variety of colors. I strip it across deep pools in current and recently through a golf course pond letting it tick across grass and stripping it out. It actually weighs enough that you can throw it on an ultralight spinning rod. But it is tough to cast. I don't use any other weight. You'll see why. I like the longer pieces of flash. It flutters well and adds that little extra action. I've also trimmed the legs shorter at times. It's up to you.

I bet it would work well in deep pools for big trout looking for a tasty crawdad to munch on.

That looks pretty good. I like to tie some similar to that excepty with yellow legs and gold eyes. Whatever you do don't tie any in orange and green. Fish up here in GA won't touch'em ::ke: :D .

Chris:
No one likes them darn Canes. I think you meant Orange and Blue, and you're right, the Dawg Fish up here are terrified of that color pattern. :drunk: ::ke: :D (back at ya)

Bret, that's a good looking bugger! I think I'll just borrow that pattern for awhile. Thanks.
