heres my first attempt at tying a crawdad....

i dont have the complete specifics on size...it really doesnt matter...but heres the order for which i have tied it...

1. tye on eyes near bend on the hook...
2. then tie on some claws use whatever(in the pics its hackle tips)
3. then tie on some body dubbing
4. next tie on on a hackle body
5. almost done...tie on foam or piece of leather on top of body...
6. lastly tie on more body dubbing and finish

tell me what you think...ill keep working on things to see if i can perfect anything else....if you got any ideas let me know

Nice work! We had great results using craw imitators on the Chattooga DH the last week of April this year. Dead drifted into pockets and deep pools, they have proven for me to be one of my most effective flies.
Tight lines!

Have you thought about tying it so the hook point is pointed up? You can probably get a more snag free crawl along the bottom.

wanted to let everybody know how it works...with tying the weighted eyes on top of the hook...it will flip over almost as soon as its in the water....im gonna still work on a weed guard...but the claws look good in the water...
