Wish you could make it Gary, its gonna be cool playing in the pigpen with a grass rod. Last gathering was great, plenty of vintage cane around, and some great fishing to boot.

All you * Boo guys want me to hold a "Boo Only" casting contest event at the 2007 FALL FLING on Nov. 3rd.? The longest target is gonna be a 60 ft. ... 6 ft.circle......... a distance easily attained with most trout rods{ Especially since one woman cast 83 ft. with a 9 ft. 5 wt. Boo. last week @ the FFF Montana conclave!} Let me or Grizz know after you hold your Boo gathering! Course you can always enter the general competition,if you are bold! Regards, Rocketroy * We need sensitive types in the cutthroat world of trout fishing!

Rocket, I think that would be a good thing. We had the idea a couple of years ago, but nothing came of it. I think it would be fun to have a boo contest, but I wouldn't want to be segragated from whippin up on the plastic casters too.

Might be fun to watch, but doubt I will enter. I am absolutely the world's worst fly caster regardless of what the rod I am using is made of. I catch a lot of fish, but it ain't pretty.

I think it would be a good thing. Watching a master caster off bamboo whup up on a bunch of plastic flyrodders. Having a bamboo course would be fun. I'm in.

Preacherboo, Thanks for stepping up! This casting is sooooooo casual, that all one has to do is sign up,and designate, that you want to score a "BOO" round against other "BOO" casters, or against the open group of infidels! Simple! Why even a caveman could do it! Get there early, that Sat. morn., help me set up,practice run the course, and gain that little edge,we competitors love! Each year, the returning caster,s scores improve with gained experience! Regards, Rocketroy

Look under casting in the archives, for the rules, posted last year! ALL rods must be *5 wt., or less! All other requirements are the same, whether Boo or composite....... see-ya there! Regards, Rocketroy * I,m waiving the "must be a 5 wt. production rod", for the BOO class ONLY!!!!!

Please sign me up!
Thats my B-Day week, so this will be a great treat. Also, I'd like to bring my 10 year old son as well. Is there an additional charge? Collectively we'd only be ONE rod. Please let me know how that works.
Thanks Again,

Sorry to be late on this, consider yourself signed up. As to paying for 1 or 2 rods (people) contact Bill Oyster. I'm not sure what High Meadows will do for you.

Afternoon festivities will begin at 5:00PM at Bill Oysters shop.
Were you looking to fish first, then go to the shop? We only have room for one more rod on the water as of now. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!!

Riffle water:
FYI: not sure if you know, but the fishing at High Meadows was cancelled due to low water conditions caused by the draught. Most folks that still want to fish are meeting up at the Toccoa River near Curtis Switch. There is another thread in the bamboo forum that discusses the plans for fishing and who to contact for directions. The meeting at Bill's place later in the day is still on as scheduled.
