Down in FL for some R&R this week. I was able to meet up with Shadow and got to do some fly fishing for reds in Mosquito Lagoon.

Let me tell you "the Shadow knows", here is the proof:

I missed several other fish due to poor technique but this guy came back for more...

That's a beautiful red! It's all down hill from here on out. No-one should catch a red that pretty and big, on thier first try on a fly. Congatulations.

My hats off to Steve for keeping his cool and placing the fly right where it had to go. I always find it impressive when someone who has never experienced a particular type of fishing puts everything together quickly and "makes the play". Great job and I enjoyed fishing with you.

SWEET fish! Did you get to see the shuttle launch ( or at least out on the pad) while you were there>?

Mark,

Thanks again, I had a great time and learned a lot. My original expectation was that redfish were NOT spooky, man was that ever wrong. Sight casting to tailing fish is really exciting, it's difficult to stay calm when they are moving on your fly. Your coaching, patience and skill made it happen.

Jeffg,

We could see the shuttle lit up on the pad in the distance, but due to security restrictions we had to stay very far away. Do to the heat, we went in the early morning and only fished until 10am, the launch time was much later in the day.
