Well with all the world's burrdens upon you sometimes, you just got to go and get out there, relax and heck just fish when it comes right down too it.:D anyway i was wondering if there are any good places to fish but with relative closeness to helen. I dont really want to have to pay the camping fee for Unicoi but maybe somewhere else. also how is Smith Creek fishing or is it just too hot for them to survive. I guess if we dont camp in helen we will go over to wildcat and fish up around there

all advice will be appreciated

If you don't want to pay for camping there are several nice spots on Jasus creek that are free. Keep following Poplar stamp road past the Low gap campground and it is the next bridge you will come to, camp sites are on both sides of the road at the bridge. Last week the water was really low on the upper hooch but fish could be found if you are willing to walk the extra distance. Smith creek above the campground was ok, but don't waste your time below the dam, too warm this time of year. Wildcat would be your best bet or the Tallulah. More water, cooler temps. Don't forget to store your food and coolers in the car at night. The bears are out in full force this summer!:yikes: And they are hungry:eek:

My favorite place to camp is Andrews Cove on 17/75 a few miles north of Helen. Short drive to the Chattahoochee WMA from there.

Well depending on if its just extremely hot and if it will rain (got to love my mom for watching for those 20-30% afternoon thunderstorm chances:rolleyes: :cross: ) but i think we may head over to wildcat. after reading lambster's report, all those browns he said are making my mouth water. wish for cooler temps guys.
