I am not sure if it goes here but the outdoor ed class in my school is about to start their fishing unit. we have a pond next to campus. the teacher has requested, from the faculty, any used rods (not fly rods) that we would like to donate.
I know MarkyMark brought this up a while back, but he was focussed on the entire school district, and I am just interested in one school.
If you are interested in donating or lending a rod (old and never used is ok as long as it is functional) let me know and I will contact the teacher.
We are located in Northern Cobb near Woodstock.
Thanks for the help, sorry if I overstepped any boundaries here. I am sure the teacher would love to mention where they came from, and we could even put it in our PTSA news. Good Pub never hurt anyone.

I may have some old zebco 202 type outfits from some cub scout fish camp events I worked a few years back if you think that would work,I'll dig around in the basement and see what I come up with.

After an enventory found that the wife had already "donated"the zebcos, but I did find a couple of antique spinning outfits I could part with. One is a late 50's or early 60's orvis 50 ultra lite on a serivcable rod and a 60's vintage mitchell 304 medium action both are in fine working order.Let me know if these would be of any use for the project.
nu2trout,
You may be first looking for donated rods.
But if you can use loaners I have eight (or maybe 10 minus one that B983 has loaned out) matched spincast rods and reels that were donated to NGTO a couple years ago at the Kid's Fishing Day.
These are for loaning out if anybody ever needs them.
I can get them down to Woodstock if you need them.
Let me know. I know where fifty or so other loaner rods are but we would have to find out if they are available.

EG I appreciate it. I could meet you at the same dropoff point I met you when I bought the tube. I will check with the teacher and make sure she understand they would be loaners! I will get back to you. Thanks again:ghug:
nu2trout,
You may also want to contact the WalMart here in Woodstock. A good number of the loaner rods we have were donated by a WalMart (not sure which one). One of our members just went into one, let them know it was for our organization and the Kid's Fishing Day and the manager donated quite a few. Might be worthwhile to get with you teacher, make an appointment with the manager, take a proposal to him detailing the program and asking if they would help support it. WalMart always says they are here to help the community, so let them.

I have plenty of loaner fly fishing gear. Looks like that's not what you're after but if you ever do need it I have it.
