I found this in one of my folders. The girl caught it in N.C. a year or so ago.

if that is the outfit she caught it on, could you imagine that fight. How awesome for anyone to catch that kind of beast on that outfit. Good for her. Does anyone know the weight of the fish?

I believe it weighed 20 lbs. + or- and she reportedly caught it on a Rapala in Transylvania County, NC. Maybe the Transylvania newspaper has an article in its archives??

I saw a Brown on the Hooch that big last Saturday. :yikes: I'm not kidding, it was at least 30" long. It's tail was 6" wide. I was fishing with my son, and a monster Brown came up out of a 10 foot deep hole 3 times to look at our offering, only to calmly swim back into the depths. :bawl:
But, I now know where he lives. Here fishy fishy fishy...

Dad (fishmonger) when are we going fishing again, you know in the place that giganticly monsterous fish :yikes: was. You know the one where you said those words you told me not to tell mom (mrs fishmonger) about, and you almost dropped your pole?::ke:

In other words, can you adopt me for a few hoursone day when you think you might be headed to a certain place?

You're suprised I am a Dad? I know, it generally requires, well, you know, and who could possibly do that with me?:rotfl: DadOf2, actually, 12 and 14 year old boys.

As far as showing you where Hoochie (like Nessie ;)) lives, you don't have enough money. Mike "Mr PITA" Vick almost did, but not anymore :shake: I'll give you a hint, though, it's somewhere between Buford Dam and Island Ford. :D

Fishmonger,
In 1998,l my cousin and I were fishing below Morgan Falls Dam and we saw such a fish. It was a huge brown trout that may have been 36" in length.
Its tail was the size of a dinner plate. I wondered if there were still that size still up there?

I wonder if that huge 30 incher was in that blowdown where the guy feeds the fish puppy chow? I've had a few looks from gigantic trout right there but they'd rather have dog food than streamers.

A few yrs. ago, we were fishing the Tallullah and a guy was flyfishing using a dark brown nugget-looking piece of foam for his "fly". I asked him what it was and he said he made it from a brown flip-flop. He called it his "trout chow fly".
He was using a split shot about 1 1/2 ft up his leader so it was sinking slowly.
He was catching plenty of stockers.
