Hook: Curved Scud Hook
Bead: Optional
Body: Chenille burned at one end
Underbody: Gold Tinsel
Rib: Gold wire
Legs: Hungarian Partridge
Antenae: Lemon Wood Duck
Thorax: Peacock, Ostrich, or Dubbing
1. Put bead on and place hook in vise. And tie in.
2. Tie in gold tinsel and gold wire. Wrap thread towards the rear of the hook.
3. Wrap gold tinsel up the hook and secure it. Cut the extra off.
4. Get a piece of chenille and burn one end. Remember move chenille toward lighter and not other way around. Tie it in, so it hangs off the bend very slightly.
5. Wrap gold wire over the chenille up near the eye. Secure and remove extra.
6. Tie in the wood duck antenae on top, using a few good tight thread wraps.
7. Flip fly over, it helps if you have a rotary vise, and tie in your hungarian partridge legs. Secure them with a few tight wraps, as well
8. Dub, or tie in your peacock or ostrich, and build a slightly bulky thorax.
9. Whip finish and add a little head cement.
This emerger pattern can be tied in whatever color caddis are hatching. I've had luck with olive, tan, and brown. But I'm sure other colors will work. Fish just like you would a soft hackle, letting it swing on past you after the drift. Like buggers, I don't think there is a wrong way to fish emergers.
Yall enjoy...
