Thanks to Curbside, I'm now sold on the RLD Pattern. This is my version. I threw everything in, including the Kitchen Sink.

It's pretty easy to tie.

Hook: size 10 3x streamer wrapped with lead
Tail: Rabbit Zonker strip and crystal flash
eyes: Bead chain
Rib: amber Vinyl lace
Body: Ice dubbing and superfine dubbing.
Legs: Spinner bait skirt
Hackle: Hen saddle
Thread: Tan 8/0

Tying steps
1. start thread toward bend of the hook.
2. Wrap middle third of the shank with lead. (This way when you tie in the tail materials and eyes it will be the same thickness along the length of the fly)
3. Secure lead with thread and move thread back to the bend of the hook
4. Tie in Zonker strip, Vinyl rib, and crystal flash and secure with wraps up to where the lead starts.
5. Trim off excess zonker strip and crstal flash. (except for the V-rib) The body of the fly should now be uniorm in thickness along the shank.
6. Bring thread back to the bend and make a dubbing loop of equal parts ice dubbing and superfine dubbing.
7. Wrap thread forward to just past the lead wrap
8. Wrap body of fly with dubbing loop and tie off. Do not trim the excess yet.
9. Move thread back to mid shank and tie in the rubber legs. Move thread to tie in point for the eyes. Trim legs to equal length. (based on the picture, I guess I only trim 3 legs, doh!?)
10. Make 5-6 wraps with v-rib along the shank and tie off and trim. Make sure to leave room for the bead chain eye.
11.Tie in Bead chain on the top of the hook as if you were making a Clouser Minnow. and leave thread behind the eye.
12. Tie in 1/2 wraps soft hackle behind the bead chain eye.
13. Wrap thread to behing the hook eye.
14. Use the rest of the dubbing loop to wrap over the bead chain and tie eye behind the hook eye.
15. Whip finish and cement.

I made this one a bit flashy for use on the DH, but I can imagine, there's no end to ways you can tie this. Fish it like any streamer. I like to use a #18 or smaller softhackle dropper 18" behind it.

That is a pretty sweet looking Fly GB. I'll have to try my hand at a few of them.
