Tying Instructions:
1. Start thread at eye and make a thread base to hook bend, wrap middle of hook with appropriate sized lead wire, lock down with tying thread.
2. Tie in clump of marabou in your choice of color or colors.
3. Tie in strand of rubber hackle material on each side of tail equal to tail length.
4. Tie in flashabou on top of tail. the excess flashabou should be long enough to fold over the body to form the carapace or shellback.
5. Tie in body material at base of the tail. Wrap tying thread to center of hook and tie in 2 rubber strands on each side of hook. Advance tying thread to near hook eye.
6. Wrap body material forward to legs. Wrap body material between the legs and then to the front of the hook, tie off and trim excess.
7. Pull long strands of flashabou over the body and tie down.
8. Fold flashabou back towards the tail and tie down behind eye. Tie off, whip finish. Add head cement. Clip excess flashabou to approx. 1/3 body length.
Fish this fly by actively retrieving, dead drifting, swing it at the end of the drift. Fish it shallow or deep. Fish it like a Wooly Bugger.
Good for all gamefish and looks like it would work well for Carp.
Some that I tied for my Penna. trip last summer. Unfortunately, river conditions did not allow me to use for smallies or to try on carp.
