With so many new Toon owners these dayz, how bout another shot at a DH floatilla.. Two weeks away gives plenty of time to work out the honey doo's and time for all those new Toons to arrive. Split it between 2 days so everyone gets in on the action, ease of transportation with the group thing, first timers mixed with old ones, ect.. Might be the last chance to get a weekend trip in this year.. Also this does not have to be just the Hooch DH. If anyone wants to start a trip on the Toccoa, Toccoa DH, or other section of the Hooch, just say the word..

So just pic a location and a day and lets get floating!!!

I'm in for the Hooch DH on Sun 16th....

Mine was waiting for me on the front porch when I came home today. The packing was a bit crushed but it looked a lot more friendly than my wife did:shake:

Landon,

I have a spare float tube, if you can convince your Mom that it is OK to join us nutballs. For what it's worth, I have 12 and 14 year old boys, so I know how to handle your type :D

Hmmm a recon mission may be necessary. Why did you put this idea in my head.

Camo, water balloon launcher and four twelve year old boys at the house that weekend. I think I just found something to keep them occupied. ;)

I am going to make this easy for everybody by being the first to wuss out on Sunday...

I am wussing out on Sunday. A big front, wind, and cold sounds like it will be a tough day on Sunday. I bet the fish are going to have lockjaw, and I don't want to freeze and battle the wind just to find out.

Go Packers!

it looks like it might be me, GB, and skibum
I guess we can brave the weather and get some rowing in, because I really dont think we are going to do much fishing this first time.

They are easy to operate. If you go you better plan on some fishing, because it won't take you 6 miles to figure out the rowing.

Good luck on your inaugural float. You can dress lightly because of global warming :rotfl::rotfl: It won't really be cold, it's all just in your head...

What a bunch of wussies.. I cant believe a lil wind and some above freezing temps are going to keep ya'll off the water.. We might even get a few snow flurries while out there.. And Mark, any GreenBay luv'n yankee like you can handle this right??..

Just checked the weather station.. Windchill of 20deg.. On second thought, my wife just said I had to watch the kids on sunday. Ya my story and i'm sticking to it ;)

I'll try again the following weekend, just no fan of the wind on an all day float :nervs:

if it wont be cold then why are you not coming again?;)

skibum
12-12-07, 03:46 PM
First have to see how much rain we get on Sat. But ya Sunday is going to be cold and windy with flurries. I'll play it by ear I guess.. I'd rather wade fish on a day like that, then i can leave whenever I want.. It's not much fun being stuck out on the water when you dont want to be.. ;)

another planned fishing trip shot to heck, this happens to me all the d*** time, I make plans to go fishing and look forward to it all week and then it gets called due to weather, :bang: :bang: :bang:

well maybe GB and I will just shuttle from WW to Paces and fish a little along the way, but it sure would be nice to have an expert along to show us the best way through the shoals and rough spots.::ke:

A third person would make it perfect so we could leave some one and go get the other car. Maybe SlowStreamer has gotten his by now.

12-12-07, 04:41 PM
Well lets wait till sat night atleast.. See if the hooch gets blown out or not.. I may still go with ya'll, but I promise it wont be alot of fun.. Why could'nt we have this nice weather a few more dayz :bawl:

Nu,

Bum and I did a float from Cochran Shoals down to Paces by ourselves. We went to the east side of CS, and carried the toons out to the put in platform. We then hustled down to Paces and left my truck, and went back up in Bum's truck. We were gone for about 15 minutes. If it makes you nervous to leave your new toons, and it made me nervous too, you could take a bike lock, and lock the 2 toons together around a tree or a sign. There is no way that they would disappear in that short a time early in the morning.

Also, you will be fine on your float, there is nothing more than a whimpy Class II at best on that float. When in doubt, get out and scout, or just back-paddle to slow down your progress towards any obstacle. You will be the expert in no time, even Gatorbite will get it :rotfl::rotfl: Sorry, that was uncalled for :p

Bum, Why do you think I live in the south? Not because I want to be made fun of for MY accent :rotfl: This Green Bay luvin fan can handle it, he just doesn't want to. I hate the cold, unless it's for something good, like skiing, or good fishing, or a Packer game. Unfortunately, I don't expect fishing to be anywhere close to good on Sunday.

Oh yeah, what is with that avitar?

I deserved it I'm sure. And it will take me forever to get the hang of it. I still can't figure out how to float in tube without haveing something go wrong.

I love the Avatar. Now I need a Pirate one too.

Arrrrr Mateys,If you guys just gotta go I could meet you at Paces, you could throw the toons in the back of my truck and I'll run you up to whitewater. After that your on your own.You probably will want to wait till about miday to take advantage of whatever warmth there is, this time of year the best fishing is between 1and 4 anyway.

It sounds like there may be a hold placed on the inaugural pirate float for NGTO. There is rain in the forcast and I think people are waiting to see what happens.
I want to float in my new toon!:bang: :bang:

Just watched the weather, sounds like tomorrow is the day to go.Anyone feel like playing hooky ,pun intended.I think I can make it to the river by about 1,the baetis start hatching about 2.I got a little floating nymph/emerger thats hot .NU2 my offer stands to shuttle you and Gatorbyte on sat,3 in my cab is tight but you could stand it for the shuttle to whitewater or Cochran and then both your cars are there when you get back. Forecast for sat upper50's rain late.

Finally found out what Arrrrrrrrrr is about. Unwraping bubble wrap from frame of new craft, putting thing together in small bedroom and takeing it apart again to remove from small bedroom. May make Sat. float, if so will have standard size PU. TRW
