How many of you guys recently purchased one of the low priced toons, and how many of you are very excited about it?

I know one person, that shall remain nameless, that is so excited he put it together in his living room and just sat on it. I think he blew up the bladders, attached the oars, put on his fishing gear and the butt section of his rod and acted like he was fishing and catching fish. Please get him out on the water.;)
I forgot to mention that he was talking like a pirate too, he may have even gone to Long John Silvers and gotten a little paper pirate hat. I just hope he had more on than hi hat and vest.

I am sure you are going to have a great floatilla next weekend, that should be some hatch cruising down the river. have fun!

Rumor has it that the big man from the north pole has one for me, but I doubt if I'll be able to find it, assemble it, go fishing with it, un-assemble it, rewrap it, and put it back and then look surprised when I open it.

But then again, I've got two boys, I'll ask them to help.

Mine was supposed to have arrived on Monday, and I met the UPS guys in drive way as I was coming home. He said he was supposed to have it on his truck but didn't and I should have it the next day (Tues). Still no toon so I called UPS and ODC to see if they can track further :cross:

I hope it will arrive today :cross:

:( :bang:

I don't know,... sounds like that's just what we need to do. Get used to and adjust seat position for optimal balance and casting. Get the seat broken in and formed to the best posterior position. Be able to locate and reach storage compartments without looking. Adjust the foot bars 80, 90 times to find that oh so comfy spot. Practice uttering nautical terms in an authentic sea worthy vernacular. And finally find a plank just the right length for the scurvy dogs to walk but not upset the balance of the vessel....hey...who pooped on my deck:cheers:

I thought I'd use cannon balls. If I can;t find any a 6 foot length of chain. Look at the 6th post on this thread:

Yep, I read that one and that is why I was asking. I thought it was a good way to control drift speed or to stop when you find a good hole.

Arr, the chain works just fine. You'll want some way to regulate how much line you've got out, could be something as simple as a cleat mounted on the frame.

I can't believe it everyone is getting there toons and UPS has lost mine. Just got confirmation today from UPS that they can not find it in the warehouse. I've called ODC and left message and hope to hear from someone, but don't think I will have mine before the Great NGTO Pirate Float :bawl: :bawl: :bawl:

This really bites !!!!! I think someone fisherman at UPS just saw all the toons being shipped and also had to have one. :pissed: :bang:

I'll pass on the lap.

I'm stocking up cannon ball sized water balloons filled different colored paint....BEWARE as you drift by bridges and over passes.........

I got a new confirmation today on another being shipped out to me, but it has not been updated with an arrival date yet.

As I was telling Bret, I'll just let you guys work all the kinks out and then share your experiences with me when I get mine.

I added a raised swivel, removable seat and a pvc rod holder to my ODC 816 along with the optional trolling motor mount w/anchor system. Plastic peg board makes very nice decking.
The swivel seat makes it easy to reach the cooler on the back deck and change casting positions as well as run the trolling motor. It also removes some weight when I hump it up on top of the jeep.

I love the rod holder.

I slotted the pvc on a table saw, notched the reel area so it would lock in place, drilled 2 holes about a 1/2" apart and use wire bundle ties to attach it to the frame. (It's made of 2 pieces because a 10' wouldn't fit in my jeep.)
