Now that I'm a toon owner I was just wondering what you guys have done to modify your toons. Anything goes; rod holders, anchor mounts/systems etc.

I attached one of those plastic milk crates to my rear deck with a couple of those velcro tie down strips. It is great for holding my air pump, life vest, etc.

Same here, except I use bungee cords.. Another add-on would be a drink holder. BPS sells one with 2 cups and a tray. Bolts right to the seat. Oh wait, your toon does'nt come with a hard seat.. Can always upgrade that if you dont like the org. seat. Rod holders of some sort.. Right now I either use the basket or lay the rod along the tube, but have almost broke my rod a few times doing that. Anchors are a must I think.. I plan to use some clear tubing and zip tie it along the frame so the rope is out of the way under the toon. A pulley on the rear brace and somewhere to tie it off up front. Rope cleat would help and i need to find one of those.. It's endless ;)

I might want to send mine back before it gets here, I can tell this is about to get expensive:bang: . I thought adding on to my sport bike was expensive.

Please Lord let me be happy with the toon I have purchased and dont let me feel the need to add 2000 dollars of extras to a 249 dollar toon.:shake:

carbon fiber this, rod holder that, achor system here, trolling motor there, live well addition for this toon, drink cooler on that toon, retractable canopy for rowing, personal servant to get the rod out of the rod holder and fold down the canopy, where does it stop. I havent even received mine yet and I have an ulcer starting just thinking about the money I am going to put into it:nervs:

Bungee cords instead of store bought containers; rod holder from BPS for $25; Rope and anchor - I use a old piece of square lead I found - left of trear apron platform.
And duct tape makes wonderful repairs should your cloth backrest tear.......

Hey, your talking to the Skibum here.. I always go the cheapest route.. ;) Anchor for me is the best rock I find at the start. If it does'nt hold right i'll find another.. If it gets hung, cut the line and nothing lost. That along with a rope and a $3.99 pulley equals Anchor system.. :) I think i'm going to upgrade to the chain though, soon as I have my nephew find me some for free.. Drink holder, $9.99... We've all lost more flies at Smiths in one day than i've just spent on the toon..::ke:

Dont forget the cooler in the back with gatorsnacks and drinks.. The saddle bags will hold EVERYTHING but the kitchen sink, so your going to bring way more than you'll need, but it's all right there next to ya :D Comes in handy when spin fishing with the tackle boxes being so large.. If you have the chance to pick up some flippers cheap, thats not a bad thing to have. You'll find the the toons will want to spin sometimes while your fishing.. These flippers will keep you pointed in the right direction while not having to reach for the oars to make an adjustment.. Hands free control.. This is when your not dragging a chain or something. That keeps you tracking pretty straight..

Never fear Nu... You'll spend alot more on other things than upgrades for ye pirate ship:cheers:

Creek Company has a rod holder for about $6 that will fit on the frame using the clips. I too bungee a laundry basket to the back platform to put stuff in. Chain anchor works well with about 25' of rope. Flippers have become indispensable. That's it for me so far. Had it a year and a half and am satisfied so far. I'm thinking of getting the trolling motor package but that would only be for pond fishing and at $90 I've managed to resist the urge.
