Anchor Mount System

nu2trout and I had a successful maiden voyage yesterday on out ODC toons, but we need to devise some sort of anchor system. We have anchors, but need to come up with a bolt on bracket that will elevate the drop position and move it to the rear of the boat.

Any suggestions? ODC sells a system, but it's $90

My Waterskeeter toon came with a simple but very effective anchor system that I bet you could duplicate it with a few cheap pulleys and eye-bolts from Home Depot. You are welcome to come on up and take a look at my frame to see how it works if you like. I am going to church soon, but will be home the rest of the day so give me a shout if you want to swing by.

Some pirate you are. The front part is the bow, and the part in the back is called the stern. Movement towards the stern is "aft". I'll belay defining pirate's booty.

A piece of Schedule 40 PVC across the stern, aft of the helm, held in place by nylon straps around the pontoons should work for an anchor point for the pulley. Then all you'll need is a cleat fastened to the frame to regulate how much anchor rope you've got out.

Take it one step further, and build a lightweight frame from pvc tubing to replace the existing nylon mesh gear loft, and you've got high and dry storage for pretty much anything.

I have not gotten mine yet so I do not know exactly how the frame is laid out but here is a couple photos I found online.
