View Full Version : Pontoon vs Raft for fly fishing
I have permission to pick our a fly fishing boat for my 50th. Believe me since we have a ski boat and my dad gave me a 16 ft john boat with a 15 hp motor that he never used this was a total surprise. But I guess my wife really does care about me since I keep turning over my two person kyak on the Tocca and hooch.
The question is what are the thougth between a pontoon two person boat and a raft for two person.

I have the perfect craft for sale with your name written all over it. I have a OUTCAST POWER DRIFTER that is perfect for the Toccoa and Hooch DH. It's like having your personal one man drift boat. It's my favorite craft for those waters and is also perfect for still waters. The only reason Im getting rid of it is because I am upgrading (again).
I had the old model which I always used and got the new model with improved oars and floor last year. The new one has only been used 3 times. Once in BC with Mr James Buice and the other two times on the lower Toccoa.
Im willing to get rid of it at cost.
Let me know if your interested

I would say GET THE RAFT while she is "allowing" it. It will be a lot easier to get a toon (cheaper) later on if you want one :)
With the raft you have more options as far as number of folks you can take. However you are more limited in access points.
I own 2 toons, I enjoy them very much but there are times I wish I had a raft.
Either way you will enjoy your choice!!!

You'll be able to run that outboard on it. With this boat and the 15hp outboard you'll have few limits.
